From it's inception organized religion is flawed in it's foundation.  It creates a hierarchy and that in it's very nature gives certain few power over the masses.  We succumb to this everyday for the sake of our nations and our jobs.  From those institutions we get physical security and money so we are willing to be ruled in order to get these things we want.  Why would you think the institution of religion is any different?  It's providing a mental security for the price of our obedience.  Long ago, physical force would be used to gain followers.  Now our fear filled, mindless masses willingly hand over freedom of thought just so they can feel warm and cozy when grandma dies.  Admit you want to feel good and you don't care if that means you get your answers from a group that is using you.  You can lie to yourself about that too…right?

Indulge me.  Think about something … name one, just one, religious person that doesn't have something to gain from your belief…your obedience.
